Lethar is a big purple and black dragon that stands between you and Dyn'Leth. Before you engage this monster, it is best to pull the remaining trash mobs from the rest of the zone. This will keep unwanted adds from happening later.
Lethar starts out permarooted. When agro'd 4 drakes spawn and attack the raid. These come in a few different flavors, one type mezzable, one with an AE mana drain, etc. If you kill one another spawns to take its place. You can either kite the 4 drakes, or kill them until they respawn as mezzable and lock them down.
Lethar has a few tricks at start as well. First there is an AE Shadow of Lethar. This is an 8k dd with 800/tick dot, cor -50 resist. There are no counters, so you need radiant cure type to remove it. The next trick is Lethar's Breath of Corruption. This is a front cone AE, 8k dd, 800/tick dot, a 10% agro reducer. It has 16 corruption counters, so hard to cure. Make sure he is facing in a direction away from healers.
DPS Lethar to 75% and he runs west to the next room. He blurs when doing this, so be careful to avoid getting on rampage list. The next phase is same as first, keep kiting drakes, keep him facing away from raid, and dps him to 50%. At 50 he runs to the 3rd room and a new drake spawns, mirrorscale. The 5th drake can not be agro'd and moves in front of Lethar (which ever direction he is facing). You need to now ensure that Lethar is not facing the raid, nor facing the new drake. If Lethar AEs while facing the drake, the drake AEs Reflected Breath, 8k dd, 800/tick dot, 10% agro increaser, cor -50 resist. This has 12 corruption counters. Avoid the AEs and dps him to 25%.
He runs for a final time at 25% and adds a new AE. When he casts the AE each person gets one of 2 random effects, either Sunset's Shadow or Doom Shadow. Doom Shadow is a delayed DT with 4 corruption counters. Sunset's Shadow however increases your max and current hp by 20000 and has 4 corruption counters. Anybody that gets Sunset's Shadow will be hit by Setting Sun 30 sec later, which is a 32k DD. If you have the buff still, you can survive the 32k however if the buff is cured, the 32k will kill you. This means group cures are out. If you get doom shadow, get it cured. If you get sunset, stay above 32k hp. (spell shielding can reduce this to 20,800). You have 4 minutes approximatly from the time he moves at 25% till he casts the DT pair of AEs, so if you have enough dps you can avoid it. Stay on top of cures, and dps Lethar down. Around 5% Lethar casts an AE blind and despawns. A chest appears with loot, containing 2 spell runes, 2 random molds (no bp or legs), and 2 items from the following list:
