In terms of BoFF vs. Tempestous longsword, go with the BoFF. The reasons are plenty here, and the only other note I can say is that as a pally you shouldn't run into alot of situations of not being able to hold agro on a single mob if you want it bad enough. The BoFF is just the better weapon.
However, I did want to chime in on the BoFF vs. Eulogy debate. I have both, on rare occasions I will still break out the BoFF, but that is VERY rare. My reasoning is similar to others here. I am pretty much a pure raiding pally. Therefore, my job is usually one of three, Kite, heal/cure, tank. Usually a combination of 2 or all three. The mitigation of damage from the rune procs should not be underestimated. Having both rune proc possibility on the Eulogy would be even better.
Whenever I am just swinging on a mob, yea that is when the Epic or other 2hander weapon comes out. Don't DPS with a 1hander. Our DPS is already low enough, its worth getting the max out of it. The bandoleer makes this easy, so if you can't be bothered to click on it or make a hotkey, then I would accuse anyone of being lazy. The ONLY target that you could probably get away with DPS'ing with a 1hander might be undead, and thats only because the damage bonus is applied after the slay amount is figured, so the damage bonus is kind of trivialized a little.
The 1hander and shield are for when you need to increase your survivability as far as possible, and that is where the Eulogy is superior. The heal proc on BoFF is nice, but I can use my spells to group heal in a far superior way. Surviving > group heals. When I have to step in a tank a raid mob, every ounce of help to keep me upright can make a difference. This is coming from someone that tanked Beltron from 50% to death successfully when a series of unlucky events left us without a warrior.
