In random discussions about which classes need upgrades, which are overpowered, etc...

Never has shaman been discussed as a class that needs upgrading.
The community consensus, at least in the casual world, seems to be that the Shaman class is one of the more powerful and useful classes, not one of the weaker ones. Furthermore, most shamans that I know are proud to be a shaman, and are very pleased and content with the power and utility we bring to a group.

For a lot of people, shaman complaints about the Shaman class are taken as seriously as the recent post on the EQ boards by a necromancer complaining about necromancer's lack of new dps spells in the new expansion. A necromancer complaining about lack of dps???

There are some seriously ignorant fools over there that need to get out of HHK every now and then to figure out how the game is played.

your not playing your cleric right. clerics dont have to sit in the corner sucking their thum with a 4 line CH hotkey...drop your group, put up your DoN defensive proc and get to smaashing things solo. hell, solo 3-4 mobs at a time. although, you arent goona do that much with your generic bazaar geared alt cleric. killer clerics in duels are out there as well, my is a time proven killer (bag 2 helps alot, shes a bigger weapon junky than alot of melee). shes got some freaky addiction to dueling, and shes quite good at it. i often use her as tank 2 dou'ing with her as my shaman or bard, her self proc buff is great dps, great agro, and i dont have much problem healing her if she cant channel one of click epic (thats what walls are for though, not real common she cant heal herself).

i've played her on raids, ch rot is down right boring, but CHrot went out of style with plane of time. spot heals critting 14k, and taking 2.4ish seconds to cast is way more healing, and less and less encounters are desgned around main tank healing, its about the entire raid taking dmg and needing heals...thats where druids and shaman really come into play, supporting their groups of casters and melee.

clerics arent dead, they are just not well played alot of the time because they (as a class) have alot on instances of being someones PLd wife/GF/alt and lack alot of core skills and experience.
