In a new guild I need some fashion advice =P

Okies since i'm now in a raiding guild I need some ideas on what would be good for upgrades. I laready know my neck suxxors have worn it since lvl 56 or 58. Guild I'm in isnt Anguish flagged yet so please keep that in mind

it seems your guild is in Qvic, basically, hit the Mshas every chance you get. period. you'll rack up a ton of upgrades from them, at this point, I don't think your guild will be in time much longer, just a few more months. I try to plan out a wishlist for zones I'm in and about to be flagged for. I'd make a quick list of items I'd like to get from time (be sensible, all-quarm gear isn't really gonna happen) MPG trials should also provide some really nice upgrades for you...

primarily focus on Focus Effect and HP upgrades right now.

Basics: Kanleku's x6, MPG Trials x9, Bloodlink, epic 1.5, couple one-group oddments like Icedrop Pearl and Glyphed Prayer Ring. Augments from RSS x8, DoN x9, one-group scattered stuff like Unrest and Tipt Matriarch... voila:

Things To Watch For From Raids:
Spell Haste,
Damage Foci,
lots of +% mods (spellshield, dot shielding, stun resist),
Pants.

Spell haste in particular is troublesome, because of its relative rarity. Jump on good spell haste items and clutch them to your chest like a treasured child or prized china. From PoTime, Bracer of the Inferno and Earring of Unseen Horrors are the stars. The next opportunity to get spell haste is in Txevu...

For damage focus effects, basically anything will do for magic focus at that level (belt from Zoo, couple txevu drops, the bracer from Zun Muram Volklana, ring from Ikk1. Poison focus is much more rare, ear and back from Inktu'ta are the only choices off the top of my head. There's a mask in Txevu, iirc, but it's kinda not good in general.

Some standouts on % mods: Britalic's Earring, Boots of Captive Screams

Pants are the new bracers for shaman. Used to be, there was nothing ever good to put on wrist. Now, there's pants. You have to crack MPG Mastery raids to really start filling out that slot on a raid full of shm/ber/rog/rng. If you have the opportunity to get Leggings of Furious Might, or Carved Stone Link Greaves, go for it. They'll last you a long-ass time.

Things To Avoid Looting On Raids:
Loots that are only hp/mana upgrades. Even if it's a lot.

It's rough. REALLY rough. Every item you see for the next half year will be 4x better than what you're wearing, unless/until you fill out a profile (like the one above) outside raids. The problem with looting "amazing" upgrades like that on raids is that you're out of the running when Spell Haste items drop. There's no other way to get them, while you can (see above) get hp & mana without the raid. There's infinite time after you loot spell haste to get hp/ac/mana upgrades.

Actually we do the goats whenever we know they should be up. I have to be piggied in untill they are ready to Do an Uqua raid again. My first "Goat" raid was Sat afternoon and I saw some armor drop but didnt think to check that they made into somethign with stats so i didnt roll on any of it (I'm kicking myself in the head and arse repeatedly now) but missed out on the late night one and yesterdays as well cause There weren't enough to get me in for piggy.


Xero you mentioned hp and Focus effects stuff. What about adding to my mna pool as well? Despite the fact that I can canni to regain mana it would seem I should also look for mana pool stuff as well so i dont have to canni as often. Or am I being a doddo bird on this?

Mana pool comes with any items you loot. From here on out, ignore +wis, ignore +mana on items. Pretend it's not even there. Evaluate your loots based on focus effects first, and hp/ac second, and how drunk you are third, tied with the total +resists. Wisdom and mana don't even factor. If you loot well on the first couple categories, you'll just naturally end up with an excellent mana pool.

edit: as a matter of fact, this advice applies to all levels of gear. Vindi BP > Tae Ew every day of the week.

I posted a gear check in another thread, but there is a lot of good discussion in this thread concerning some of the questions I had. I just really want to see what the opinions are out there for "must have" focus. The only one I see in every post regarding focus is Discordant Healing on Qvic arms and a few other items.
