So.. Big damn shark in Lake Rathe.

After soliciting and receiving some very encouraging input on Plane of Sky run, I realized I have to kill the Ancient Megaladon in Lake Rathe first.

I had a search through to find some detailed information about this, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency. I see anything from requiring five groups to I solo'd it with my sisters lvl 20 mage pet.... Ok. The lowest I saw was a couple shaman, berserker and a cleric.


Anyway, wondering if you folks that have recently experienced it, or just have a good feel for what it might take.

The guild that has graciously accepted me into its fold is just recently in Qvic, so I would say about 10-15% Qvic geared?? Lot of DOD spell mission stuff, and most have their Spirit cloak. (just giving a feel for where we are at)

What is your opinion on the MINIMUM that could do this effectively. (E.g. low risk)

Also any strategy or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Two groups, a couple of clerics, maybe one spam healer, descent tank, some DPS. Pull it up on the land (yes he will come up on land) and he's not too bad.

Just one other question regarding this.

If we could one group Challiak (did with a guild group. Guild MA) could we one group this shark? Or is that even a reasonable comparison? We all hid on the stairs and popped up to debuff,dot etc. except MA.

Ok, all the epic 1.5 mobs had some major changes after a few months from their debut (don't recall the patch date)... I was able to easily kill the shark with 1.5 grps (Granted were Anguish/Demiplane) geared. It's a push over for us! The swarmfiend if you've got the healing the more groups you have the quicker the fight... I helped kill him in a Time/Quivic geared raid 2.5 groups was overkill but made it easy. Granted alot depends on the skill of the people your playing with. Some people can have all the gear in the game and still suck. Others who don't have the gear and pull of the same stuff as the geared guys tend to be very skilled at what they do.

I did this recently for a friend. I don't remember the total toon count but it was like maybe 8 or 9, most of them boxed. The wiz was takvi geared, the rest dod or below. Was a simple fight.

Took a hella long time and the stun is annoying as hell but I think just about any 1 group or less of decently grouped people could take him out easily. I was boxing my cleric and iirc I would get stunned, then cheal myself (14k war) then get hit with stun, cheal again, then get stunned, then group cheal. On a horse with mind candy and ft 20 my cleric did fine mana wise.
