Gear and augs?

hey everyone, this is my first post over here at the new forums, i'm impressed with the boards so far, normally i dont get into gear topics but i find myself sort of stumped.

I play a monk as my main and take my shammy bot every where i go, i'm in an ele raiding guild 2 kills from potime, we allow bots on our raids but bots are only able to spend a total of 50 RPS per item (needless to say i haven't got much gear out of the ele planes). So i'm looking at other ways to gear up my shammy, tradeskills aren't really my thing, but the signets/aid grimel quest looks promising, along with some of the DoN bought and OoW quest gear.

My main question i guess is how do many of you decide on augs?
I would like to start getting augs on all of the gear for the shaman soon, but i cant decide if I should buy up the DoN HP augs, or the Mana/END augs, im a slacker and only have ND2 and as you can see from his AA's in magelo, i spent them a bit ...well...everywhere heh, ND2 is my next goal to finish it off, or innate enlightenment 5, either of the two, then the other.

Whats the general opinion as for HP or Mana augs? or do most of you just try and split them up 50/50 until you start getting the nicer raid augs?

I'm a shaman, hitpoints are just mana waiting to happen. My main focus is hitpoint augs. I do have a couple of nice mana augs, but I just lucked into them - they were not a goal.

How you augment your shaman is probably heavily influenced by the fact that he's 100% bot. It means that he's not going to agro like main shaman, and also that you're not going to be on top of his canni power all the time. You might consider mana augments because of those differences.

For main shaman, hp augs are WAY better than mana augments.

You're just getting to Plane of Time. You will not get any clickies or P4+ focus items for your bot for ages. Months at least, maybe never, unless your guild treats bots VERY differently from every other guild I've ever heard of. Just to sate curiosity, though, I suppose: the PoTime A-list:

Don't get Rosrak BP. BP will be the common Bloodlink Chestmail. Timeless Chain Tunic Patterns are for rogues, who get the rare +backstab damage on their class BP. The focus from Rosrak BP is beaten by Facade of Fright from Trial of Fear at Projection of Mind in MPG.

Don't get Whorl. It's a great shield, but there are tons of great secondaries out there, including the one-groupable Bane of the Stonegazer from Trial of Ingenuity at Projection of Realms in MPG. The healing focus effect on Kanleku's arms from Qvic is infinitely easier to get, and more powerful besides.

As general advice, everyone worrying about PoTime gear should by involving all nine MPG trial loots in their deliberations. They're all available to any single group with sufficient determination. See the threads on this forum for details.

thanks for the input, as for brohg's comments, we probably wont even see our first PoTime raid for atleast another month, its highly unlikely that we'll even see quarm for a few months depending on how well we progress through the phases, i'm just tryin to get an idea for whats worth holding out for, and whats worth just filling in the blanks for now, i try to keep my raid bidding to a minimum, so that others can benefit more, but i'm just trying to get some rough idea's ready, i'd hate to pass up an item i actually have a chance at getting and regret it later.
As for mpg trials, i've done only like...2 on my monk, i'm not very familiar with them, are the group trials themselves somewhat bot friendly providing the person behind the bot has good skills at it? or would i be better off ditching the monk and going solo on the shaman for a few trials to gear him up?
Really hate buggin you guys but i appreciate all your input, its hard bein a botter in a non-botters world hehe, raid loot seems minimal atm with our current mudflation of rps, so i'm just looking for alternate ways to keep up until then.
As for VP quests which i'm sure someone might mention, both are keyed for VP, but not really sure its worth the faction farming atm. =P

Play your characters singly in the trials. Gear up your main, then gear up your secondary. Trials just aren't paced suitably, stably, safely for two boxing normally. I know folks in my guild do it, but they're just throwing muscle around, and don't need to play as tight as you would.

Definately do Veeshan's Peak quests, at least on the shaman for focus effects. Mana pres and healing foci both are found on VP items.

Heh, is a secondary to one of SR's officers. is his, too. That guy has "some" playtime. He has a rogue alt with some tacvi & anguish stuff, too, and ranger with Tacvi weapons, monk similar to the ranger, and a cleric "just" with qvic gear, but I couldn't find a magelo for those characters

It's all a little deceptive, though, since starting with a super tank (his main. the warrior runs a far second) and shaman team goes much differently from "bootstrapping" from nothing. Just as an example, he's taken three characters and, with a friend also running three, been able to kill the guys in New Mistmoore that drop the pants on Gugguluk. Pretty impressive, and a bit different proposition from the Kuaan Infantry Greaves and up & coming lfg dude might wear.

i used to worry about wanting all this stuff that twinks wore..but its not worth the time. concentrate on you. there is always gonna be some top end guild that has all there alts 2.0's done, anguish gear on second and 3rd alts...but i can do nothin about that, i just try to equip myself with the best i have available, and put my energy into playing the best shaman in the game (in my mind)
