If anyone wants to debate whether or not Raid guilds should have high minimum requirements, or what they should be, or whether or not Raiding is more challenging then alternatives thats fine by me, but lets do that in another thread on another sub-forum.
As for the topic I agree, I think that yes the GM armor was a bit extreme (which is why my character in non-raid gear has a full set) though I don't think it was that extreme. I think that AC should be a bit higher on non-raid gear though not much more.
What I do propose is instead of giving general group-able stuff or soloable stuff better loot, have alternate forms of challenge that can be accomplished by a group. Monster Missions are a good example of this I believe. Some of them are quite challenging. Maybe Solo tasks, in fact even a step further, solo quests/tasks that are based around level range and specific classes. This would really increase the RP level of EQ (MMO RP G) while providing additional types of challenging content for those non-raiders (or even for the raiders or raiders alts)... though I definitely say make people work for their rewards, give them a lot of risk, work, and challenge, but also give them a worthy reward.
