Ideas for the New Expansion

I would like to see spells like Champion, but with stronger, more narrowly focused, effects.

Champion does (among other things):
Increase All Skills Damage Modifier by 10%

I would like new group-only spells that stack with champion and overwrite one another:

Talisman of the Cudgel: Increase Blunt Damage Modifier by 10%
Talisman of the Knife: Increase Pierce Damage Modifier by 10%
etc H2H
etc Slash

Such that the net effect is that people swinging the right kind of weapon get a pretty good effect. It requires a group-makeup and situational awareness that makes the game more interesting, both for the melee and the shaman. I'm doubtful we will get a significant across the board boost to our melee boosting ability (although I think a champ upgrade with a 12% all-skills modifier is probably a good thing to request), but maybe if we ask for something a little more narrowly focused it'll be considered.

Oh that would also make having multiple Shaman on a raid more beneficial. One Shaman takes care of Piercing, another slash, and so forth. Right now 1 to 2 Shaman on a raid is really all you need and adding more really doesn't have a lot of added benefit to the raid other than reducing the work load of the Shaman. Maybe adding a line of spells kinda like that would increase incoming damage of each weapon type.

Maybe it's a silly idea I don't know...

Something else I would like to see:
-discussions amongst my shaman brethren and honoured guests to stay on topic and respectful, instead of denegrating into knee-jerk reactionism and childish behavior. Why Samanna or one of the other elders hasn't threatened to 'pull this cart over and turn it around' amazes me.


Over the years, people have turned to this site into a major source of EQ wisdom and quality discussions. That is why so many people who aren't even shaman come to this place to learn. Aside from our roles in battle, the main calling of a shaman is to bring wisdom to the people, not kvetch back and forth like children and old toothless women. If someone, especially one of the less learned, say something you don't like on a topic, either ignore them or grow some skin and attempt to educate them about that subject. We have here 4 pages of crap that if you boiled it down, should only be about a page long about the actual topic.
