Windows7 and Dual Cores

I have been playing around with Win7 RC 64 bit over the last month or so and was wondering if anyone else was having issues with it and EQ using BOTH cores of a dual core intel processor? As I monitor EQ it clearly shows only one core being utilized. And yes affinity is set to use both cores before anyone asks..lol

EQ isnt set up to use multiple cores they even have a walk thru someplace to set it so its not trying as that used to cause it to crash.

Well that explains it. I just remember some update long ago about them adding dual core support. Shame on me for assuming that meant the game was able to use both cores.

That just meant the game didn't freak out and frag itself with omgdualcorewtfbbq! Also, since that patch it automatically assigns each new eqgame process to the next core, so they're not competing for that resource, which is very nice even though RAM is still really the limiter on running multiple instances.

I'm about to buy a new machine and I'm debating on Vista or Windows 7. Would anyone recommend one or the other? mind you I am not a technical person. Machine specs are Dell XPS Studio 16, 2.6 processor, 6 GBs RAM.

I'm not sure how to properly install EQ on either TBH if there are specific things I must do to install it.

Windows 7. We have one machine running with Windows 7 and it is working out quite fine.

Im running Win 7 x64 have been for the last 6mths or so - Its Awesome. Vista was a pile of dog shit gave me all sorts of probs. If you havent installed it yet do it
